Pastor apologizes for anti-Catholic remarks…Luther and Wycliff rolling in their graves
May 13, 2008
WASHINGTON (AP) - John Hagee, an influential televangelist who endorsed John McCain, is apologizing to Catholics for referring to the Roman Catholic Church as “the great whore” and calling it “the apostate church.”

Hagee’s support for McCain has drawn criticism from some Catholic leaders. McCain has said he does not agree with some of Hagee’s past comments.
In a letter to William Donohue, president of the Catholic League for Civil and Religious Rights, Hagee wrote: “Out of a desire to advance a greater unity among Catholics and Evangelicals in promoting the common good, I want to express my deep regret for any comments that Catholics have found hurtful.”
Donohue, one of Hagee’s critics, said, “To me, it’s basically over.” He planned to meet with Hagee.
May we NEVER come to this point of forgetting the blood stained protestant reformation movement to appease the mass. This is just a glimpse of the resentment that will follow as a result of proclaiming the teachings of Jesus. May the Lord find us faithful in times of opposition!

I justwote John Hagee this morning(5-15-08) and got a quick
response from him. Of course, he defended his remarks.
I then wrote him the following…
—————————————————————————
John,
I appreciate your response to my letter.
But Jesus did not apologize to rhe pharisees
when He called them ’scribes, pharisees, hypocrites’.
He made many remarks against them and their
false religion. He told them that their works condemned
them. He told then that prostitutes would go into
Heaven before they would!…because those repented
of their sins.
No, Jesus had nothing to apologize for.
Your brother in Christ,
Bill Mead
