Pope tells young people to trust in the Virgin Mary(what about Jesus?)

At a meeting in Northern Italy, the pope told young people to trust in Mary. Now I am no expert in religion, but does the bible teach anything about trusting in anyone other that God and His son Jesus Christ? He went on to say that Mary today is telling us to ‘trust in her’.
