For years, bible prophecy students have looked at the great dark day in 1780 as a fulfillment to the prophecy of Jesus in Matthew 24 as a sign of the end of the age. لسنوات ، نبوءه الكتاب المقدس الطلاب تم تفعيل هذه النشاطات في اليوم في الظلام كبيرا بوصفه وفاء 1780 الى نبوءه المسيح في ماثيو 24 كدليل على نهاية العصر.

Some people have felt that if the Dark Day was caused by forest fires, and because it was so long ago, it would no longer be the sign Jesus referred to in Matthew 24 (and Mark 13:24). بعض الناس يرى انه اذا كان اليوم الكئيب الذي تسبب به حرائق الغابات ، وذلك لانه كان منذ وقت طويل ، فإنه لم يعد من الممكن الاشارة يسوع المشار اليها في ماثيو 24) ومارك 13:24). But they overlook these important points- ولكنها تغفل هذه النقاط الهامة -

1. Most of the other signs Jesus referred to in Matthew 24 can have a more shallow physical or sociological explanation as well (wars, love growing cold, famines, diseases, etc.). The cause of a sign doesn’t keep it from being a sign of Jesus’ return. اكثر من علامات اخرى يسوع المشار اليها في ماثيو 24 يمكن ان يكون لها اكثر الضحله الماديه او الاجتماعية بالاضافة الى شرح (الحروب الباردة الحب المتنامي ، والمجاعات والأمراض ، الخ.) قضية علامة على انه لا يحتفظ من أن يكون علامة يسوع العودة.
2. The timing of the Dark Day is highly significant. توقيت الظلام اليوم بالغة الاهميه. According to Jesus it would come “after the tribulation of those days,” refering to the persecution of the Dark Ages. ووفقا ليسوع انه يأتي "بعد ايام من هذه المحنه" في اشارة الى اضطهاد من العصور المظلمه. In 1780 Bibles were more readily available and Bible prophecies were now gaining great recognition. في 1780 كانت الاناجيل بمزيد من اليسر ونبوءات الكتاب المقدس وكانت تكتسب الآن ، كبيرا.
3. The location of the Dark Day is highly significant. موقع الظلام اليوم بالغة الاهميه. A new nation, built on democracy and religious liberty, was being born and all the world was watching. امة جديدة ، ويقوم على اساس الديمقراطيه والحرية الدينية ، وكان يجري كل ولد ووقف العالم متفرجا. When The Dark Day took place druing the United States War for Independence it become international news. وعندما وقعت اليوم الكئيب druing الولايات المتحدة الحرب من اجل الاستقلال اصبح من الانباء الدولية.
4. The Dark Day and FAlling of the Stars after a period of widespread religious persecution seem to be markers for the other signs of Matthew 24. الظلام والتي تقع في يوم من نجوم بعد فترة من الاضطهاد الديني على نطاق واسع ويبدو ان علامات لعلامات أخرى من ماثيو 24. After 1780 (and the Falling of the stars in 1833) all the other signs of Jesus’ return began to dramatically increase in frequency and intensity. بعد 1780) والتي تقع للنجوم في 1833) كل علامات اخرى على يسوع بدأ فى العودة الى زيادة كبيرة في تواتر وشدة. 5. The Dark Day took place 208 years ago this year. الظلام 208 يوم وقعت قبل سنوات هذا العام. If Jesus came back in the next 50 years, and if the earth would then be about 6050 years old, this would be mean that the Dark Day would have taken place in the last 5% of earth’s history. اذا جاء المسيح العودة في ال 50 سنة القادمة ، واذا كانت الارض بعد ذلك نحو 6050 سنة ، وهذا من شأنه ان يعني ذلك ان من شأنه ان اليوم الكئيب وقعت في الماضي 5 ٪ من تاريخ الارض. For those who don’t like a short earth history, and prefer, let’s say, 10,000 years or longer, then the sign of the Dark Day would have taken place in the last 2% or less of earth’s history!! هذه لمن لا يحبون قصيرة الارض والتاريخ وتفضل ، دعنا نقول ، 10000 سنوات او اكثر ، ثم توقع من الظلام في اليوم من شأنه ان وقعت في الماضي 2 ٪ او اقل من تاريخ الأرض! It seems like it happened so long ago because we are used to instant everything today. But it is truly recent history. ويبدو ان مثل ذلك حدث منذ وقت طويل بسبب تعودنا على كل شيء الجاري اليوم. انها حقا ولكن التاريخ الحديث.

Though it likely has no prophetic significance, it is interesting that the eruption of Mt. St. Helens on May 18, 1980, which darkened the north western US, covering it in ash, was only one day early from being the 200 ^th anniversary of the Dark Day, when the north eastern US was darkened, perhaps by ash. على الرغم من انه من المرجح ان لا اهمية النبويه ، ومن المثير للاهتمام ان انفجار جبل سانت هيلين في 18 ايار / مايو ، 1980 ، والتي أظلمت الشمالية الغربية من دولارات الولايات المتحدة ، وهي تغطي في الرماد ، وكان في وقت مبكر يوم واحد فقط من الذكرى السنويه ^ال 200 لل الظلام اليوم ، عندما كان شمال شرق الولايات المتحدة أظلمت ، وربما يكون ذلك الرماد.
