Thank you for sharing this powerful testimony! It makes me yearn for a closer walk with God and tells me to listen more. Thanks again.

  2. Kendol says:

was wondering if the house was sold, and when, and if these guys live in Indiana now…
A few gaps I hoped I can be filled in with.

This is a wonderful testimony. I would love to have an update when they sell their house and to find out where they move to. You can see they are a family that is seeking to follow the Lord with their whole heart.

Does anyone have a transcript of this? Some of us already live in the woods without high-speed! :-) I really want to hear their testimony but need a little assistance! Thanks!

  5. Lesa A. Bauman says:

I believe God is the one speaking to Mike and Cheryl because their testimony is consistent with “those who are they” in character to God’s people with “the fruits of the spirit”. In addition, The New World Order (Illuminati) has “18 cities across the US, which are considered major “power centers” for Illuminati power and/or influence. These include: Washington, DC and the surrounding areas; Albany, N(Y); Pittsburgh, P(A;) the “golden triangle” of the Winston Salem, Raleigh, NC area(;) Minneapolis, M(N;) Ann arbor, M(I;) Wichita, K(N;) Phoenix, A(Z;) Portland, O(R;) Flagstaff, A(Z;) Seattle, W(A;) Houston, TX(;) Los Angeles, CA and surrounding areas(;) Atlanta, G(A;) New Orleans, L(A) and Springfield, M(S). Other cities are impportant to the Illuminati, as all, but these cities funnel money for them, conduct research, and often regional councls sit within them.” Quoted from Svali at:(www.mindcontrolforums.com/svali_speaks.htm)

In addition, “…each region of the United States has “nerve centers” or power bases for regional activity. The United States has been divided up into seven major geographical regions. Each region has localities within it that contain military compounds and bases that are hidden in remote, isolated areas or on large private estates. These bases are used intermittently to teach and train generational Illuminati in military techniques, hand-to-hand combat, crowd control, use of arms, and all aspects of military warfare. Why? Because the Illuminists believe that our government, as we know it, as well as the governments of most nations around the world, are destined to collapse. These will be planned collapses, and they will occur in the following ways:

The Illuminati has planned first for the financial collapse that will make the great depression look like a picnic. This will occur through the maneuvering of the great banks and financial institutions of the world, through stock manipulation, and interest rate changes. Most people will be indebted to the federal government thorugh bank and credit card debt, etc. The governments will recall all debts immediately, but most people will be unable to pay and will be bankrupted. This will cause generalized financial panic which will occur simultaneously worldwide, as the Illuminists firmly believe in controlling people through finances. Next, there will be military takeover, region by region, as the government declares a state of emergency and martial law. People will have panicked, there will be an anarchial state in most localities, and the government will justify its move as being necessary to control panicked citizens. The cult-trained military leaders and people under their direction will use arms as well as crowd control techniques to implement this new state of affairs. Quosted from Svali at: http://www.mindcontrolforums.com/svali_speaks.htm

I believe this is why God is warning Mike and Cheryl about Atlanta, GA and to tell His people to “get ready”. God has also been wonderful in sending us dreams, visions and prophesyings of “those who are they” so we may be able to gauge His second coming. We need to help the world understand what will happen, so people will accept Him.

    May God Bless You,

    Lesa

  7. Mike M. says:

After listening to the testimony of Mike and Cheryl I cannot help but feel a sense of sadness. Sadness at how little we as a people have learned from all the lessons God has tried to teach us through the Scriptures and the Spirit of Prophecy. I have no doubt that Mike and Cheryl are sincere people trying to do God’s will the best they know how. And I am certain that they truly believe that God has spoken to them. What saddens me however is the lack of discernment and immaturity in knowing how to react to their situation.

The first point I need to make is that although Mike and Cheryl do not claim to be prophets, by sharing their testimony publicly they have put themselves in a position where the rest of us have no choice but to judge their message the way we would judge the message of a prophet. Had Cheryl just told her husband and friends that she had received certain impressions and was unsure whether they were from the Lord or not, then each listener would have been left to consider the matter for themselves. Every Christian at times feels strong impressions which seem to come from the Lord, and yet, unless we have been called by God to the prophetic office, we must always keep in mind that our impressions might not always be true. Instead, by publicly claiming certainty that it was the Lord that spoke and that this voice specifically told her the city would be destroyed, she placed the rest of us in a position where we must now determine if it truly was the Lord that spoke to her or not. All those living in or near Atlanta need now to determine if this is God’s message to them or if it is a deception of Satan since, if God really has given this message, anyone tarrying behind in the city will do so at the peril of their own souls (remember Lot’s wife). And, the only way to determine if this message is from the Lord or not is to apply the biblical tests of a prophet to it.

The problem however is that there is no way to apply the tests of a prophet to the situation because we have no previous information to judge them by. We have not seen the Lord speak through them in the past nor have we had a chance to build trust in the fact that they have been called by the Lord to a prophetic ministry among us. And although applying these tests generally takes some time, in this situation, judging from how fast the house was to sell, very little time is available in which to decide. So we are put in a position to make a life or death decision without any concrete information to go on. And frankly, the Lord simply does not work in this way. He does not give warnings through channels we cannot know whether to thrust or not. “For if the trumpet give an uncertain sound, who shall prepare himself to the battle?” (1 Cor. 14:8) When God called Ellen White to her prophetic ministry he gave ample evidence to our pioneers that He was speaking through her. They had a chance to witness her in vision and observe the supernatural phenomenon that then occurred, to see the fruit of her ministry and to compare her words with the Scripture. All this took time and God gave the church time to apply the tests and know for sure that she was speaking for Him. Here on the other hand we have a message that calls for a life or death decision before any chance is given to establish whether the Lord is speaking or not. People are placed in a position to choose between staying in Atlanta and incurring God’s wrath or leaving the work that God had given them in the city and gratifying Satan’s desires to see the sacred work abandoned at a crucial time such as this.

Someone will here argue that the sale of the house in three days will show whether the prophecy is true. But in fact, the sale of the house will prove absolutely nothing. If Satan is the one behind this, how hard would it be for him to have one of his rich followers purchase the property in the allotted time?
The thought has also been put forth that, following this message cannot really hurt us since God has already told us years ago to leave the cities. But although God has told us to bring up our children away from city life, He never said that the gospel work in the cities should cease. We are told to “preach the gospel to every creature” and the majority of the population today lives in the cities and suburbs. Nothing would suit Satan better then for all those dedicated Adventists who are working for God in Atlanta to take off and leave the work behind.

Finally, there are other more subtle dangers that will accompany the popularizing of this testimony. It is not unlikely that many sincere Christians, looking at Cheryl’s experience with God will become discouraged because God does not speak to them in the same tangible way that He has spoken to her and her husband. They will question whether their lives are right with Him or not because they cannot hear His voice. Others on the other hand will be so determined to receive something tangible from the Lord that they will be tempted to enter upon forbidden ground and unknowingly receive experiences which come from an altogether different source. And, if the day does come when the Lord will want to send a warning message to His church, many will not take that word seriously because they had already been disappointed in the past.

It is my suggestion that those who are putting up this video will remove it from the website and if possible from Youtube altogether. And I would also recommend that when situations such as these arise in the future the elders of the church would first get together and seriously put time and prayer into evaluating the matter before bringing it to the general public. May God bless and guide all of us as we try to navigate our way through these end times.

  8. Lesa A. Bauman says:

    To: Mike M.

You sound as if it is an inconvenience for you (as well as others) to hear a message of truth. Perhaps you would have told Elijah the same thing in the time of Ahab ;-) As far as testing Mike and Cheryl’s testimony, one does not have to be a “prophet” to receive light or guidance from God. The Bible is clear, though, that in the last days, there will be “prophesyings, visons and dreams” specific to our time (the last days). I suppose this is also a major inconveniance to moving too? Lastly, I find your name-calling Cheryl’s testimony as “lack of discernment and immaturity” to be unfounded and very distasteful!!! You have no basis for these NAMES from the testimony which they gave. On the flip-side, I find your writing to contain IGNORANCE in regards to the “signs of the times” as well as the sinful practices which are going on, under Christian (and Adventist) noses in relation to the New World Order’s Agenda. Were you to become acquianted with their involvement in our country, you may have less to say about staying in any large city.

  9. Mike M. says:

    Dear Lesa,

In looking back over what I wrote I can see how I was not very clear in that first paragraph. It was not to Mike and Cheryl that I was referring when I spoke of lack of discernment but to the rest of us who listened to their testimony. As Adventists, we have been privileged not only with the Scriptures but with a prophet ministering in our midst for over 60 years. We should be very familiar by now with God’s ways of dealing with His people.

When God desires to warn His church in regards to anything, He gives clear instruction so that His people would know what to do. “Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it.” (Hab. 2:2) For example, Jesus told His disciples that when they saw Jerusalem surrounded by armies, they were to leave the city. The disciples understood His instruction and continued their ministry in Jerusalem until they saw the sign and then left according to the command. We are told in the Spirit of Prophecy that not one Christian died in the siege.

Let me ask you a question. I assume you don’t live in a big city and that you are where you are because you feel it is where God wants you to be. And let me also, for the sake of the illustration, assume that you have a ministry in your area and are working with a good number of interested individuals who show good potential. But let’s suppose that someone from your church who you don’t know too well but of whom you have a fairly good opinion comes up to you one day and tells you, “The Lord spoke to me last night and gave me a message for you. He told me that you need to take your family and move to Africa to do missionary work. He also said that if you do not go you will loose your life.” Would you automatically assume this is from the Lord and pick up your things and leave? And yet it seems that this is exactly what you expect the people of Atlanta to do. God has plainly told us to “… believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God…” And yet, we have very little information on which to try this spirit, while being pressured to make a quick decision because we don’t know how much time we have before the city is destroyed. And like I said before, this is not how God works.

After I posted my comments yesterday, I had the thought to go back and write also that, it is very likely, if the house does not sell in three days, that they will say they misunderstood what God meant by that and that it is not three days from the time the house goes on the market. Obviously I never followed through with that thought and now I am speaking after the fact but this morning Mike and Cheryl posted their e-mail and said that very thing. Can it be that for the sake of those who really believed this to be from God, God purposely prevented the house from being sold on time?

I am at the present out of town and do not have access to the EGW database while for some reason the website seems to be down. However, there are several instances where Ellen White dealt with similar situations. I believe some of these stories might be found in one of the three Selected Messages books. I strongly suggest that anyone trying to figure out what to do with this testimony would look those up. If someone knows the exact reference, please post. I will try to find the references and post myself in a few days. Also the book called “Beware of Angels” by Roger Monroe might be of use as well.

Lastly, I would suggest to all of us to keep Mike and Cheryl in prayer that God would be with them as they sort their way through this confusing time and that He would not allow them to loose their faith.

  10. Adrian says:

I echo with Mike M.’s comments on the issue of Mike and Cheryl. I do take the couple’s testimony seriously as anyone who says that God spoke to them requires a fair hearing to decide the source of the messages. It is the right of true believers to test every spirit and judge them according to the Bible. After hearing their testimony I felt that they took 45 minutes to first convince the crowd that they were not making this up [hence the signs: Cheryl reading from a certain chapter and book of the Bible etc.].

Further, as far as I remember, God has decreed very few cities to be destroyed in history. In the case of the most wicked cities, Sodom and Gommorrah (which many of our cities are approaching that level of wickedness), God was willing to save it if there were found ten righteous souls. In the case of Jonah and Nineveh, God was willing to spare 120K people in mercy. Each of those messages of warning were accompanied with force and conviction that these messages were from God. In addition, a reason was always given for why the city should be destroyed. This couple gave no reason from God, as far as I could tell, for the city to be destroyed. I have preached in Atlanta, in SDA churches of which I am a member, and I know that there are many righteous souls there. When Jerusalem was destroyed not one Christian lost his or her life in the destruction of that city. Again, God gave ample warning, signs to follow (the temporary retreating Roman legions etc), and again a reason for why the city was being destroyed (rejection of God’s prophets and Christ culminating in the stoning of Stephen).

I would suggest that readers of these posts go to http://www.audioverse.org to read of another such individual who claimed to recieve dreams from God and how members of the SDA church were able to discern the fallacy of the message. What strikes me is that that individual, Ernie Knoll, and this couple are similar in their admitted shallow experience with God and their request to God to give them a deeper experience. Both Ernie, and this couple prayed for God to communicate with them while not relying on the inspiration [Bible & EGW's writings] that God has already given to all of us to grow spiritually in Christ. God will not give people a deeper experience with Him if people neglect to use the methods and tools he has provided which are consistent Bible Study, Prayer, devotions, Church attendence etc. Visions, dreams and appearances of angels do not substitute the study of God’s Word.

I do believe that we should move out of the cities as Mrs. White has encouraged us to do so. However, she also encouraged us to have outposts around cities and to secure the best halls in the cities for Evangelism.

We are living in the times of the end and I look forward to when Joel’s message of the last days will be fulfilled with the power of the latter rain. God in His mercy is still calling all of us to repent and proclaim the 3 Angels messages through our lives and words all over the world. This world is soon going to end and we need to learn how to study the Bible and make sure we ask God to guide us as we evaluate the signs, and live in the Time of the End.

I tried to view the video(so I would know what they were talking about) but it is no longer available. Where can I see it?
We must be careful how we judge others as that is the measure by which we will be judged !! Prove all things, hold fast that which is good.

  12. Sybil says:

The video works. Try it again. :)

  13. Alex says:

We need to know what is happening in the church and we should be able to discern how to take the message so the church should let us know when messages are showing up.

  14. Sharon says:

    Dear all
Thank you for all your comments – it was so inspiring and I think a person must be wise and practical in these days. That only you can get from God our Wonderful Saviour and Friend. I agree what Mike M and Adrian said but I don’t want to shoot down what Cheryl and Mike experienced. I think they are sincere in their views but let’s discern everything absolutely ONLY through the Bible and EGW writings and above all PRAYER then I am sure we will know what to do in future. We must also be ready at all times. Thanx again I appreciate it.

  15. Laura-Ann says:

The message seems very clear: It is our responsibility to place God as top priority in our lives, to seek Him continually through prayer, meditation and the studding of His Word. Then we shall know His will and hear His voice. That is the message that I received from Cheryl and Mike. That is the message I feel they are trying to convay.

  16. Daniel says:

I have many opinions about this matter that I will pray about but I do agree with Mike M….This maybe should be taken off the this site and even the web. because satan can use this against the Church if it is not of God.
I have yet to hear of an update and this was recorded almost a year ago.
I do not doubt that Cheryl and Mike are good people but that hardly warrants being able to post this on such a respected site without first having prayer and surrender by those who post such articles.
We have to remember that weak and naive souls read and watch this site daily and it is up to those who GOD has chosen to, keep HIS will in mind…NOT theirs when choosing what others will see and hear.
    God Bless

The message I received was loud and clear. Seek a relationship with our lord and savior Jesus Christ.
Teaching others to do the same. Our duty as christians is to deliver Gods message and let the Holy Spirit convic heart. Lets all pray for Mike & Cheryl, and all who have
listened to their testimony. May our all mighty father protect us, give us wisdom and discernment in all things.
In this web-site, ( http://www.thefaithfulwitness.org )pastor David Gates makes mention of military orders that have been signed by one of our presidents, one of the big cities he mentions is Atlanta.

  19. Elisa says:

This is a powerful testimony of seeking God’s will for our lives. Their primary message is to know God, to seek Him daily, to seek His will for our lives, to allow Him to speak to us as to what each step we take should be. They are not telling us what to do but simply giving us a message of the importance of trust and total reliance and surrender to God.

The sad part about some of the comments I read is that this message as I stated above seemed to have been missed and the focus made on whether or not they’re prophets and whether or not ATL will be destroyed. That does not seem to be the focus of their message and I am thankful that this was not taken off the website. Their message of total surrender to God has been well received and is a message that needs to be shared with the entire SDA church, even yet the entire world. Can you imagine: if every SDA member were totally surrendered to God what a difference we would make in our world! With this truth we have and the love of God, thousands would be giving their lives to Jesus on a daily basis!

As someone above mentioned, we should all be discerning and continually pray for the spirit of discernment so that we can appropriately determine what is of God and what is not.

I could go on with positive comments about my impression of the testimony but I’ll leave it there….Thanks to Mike and Cheryl and the webmasters…

  20. Tim Greaves says:

In September 2009, Atlanta, Georgia undertook heavy rains and as a result became severely flooded. Houses have been destroyed and many lives have been lost. \n\nGod is real. He warns His people. This is the love of an almighty God. May our prayers and physical support go out to the people of Atlanta.
