The Book of Revelation, Rome’s Court, and International Law

June 24, 2008

It is not in chronological order. It has symbolism throughout. It has dates that you have to search through scripture to interpret. Is it all symbolic, half literal? Is it both?

As I have been reading through the book of Revelation lately I have started to notice some things. First off, did you know that God has pronounced a blessing on anyone that reads or hears the words of the prophecy in Revelation. He also adds a blessing to all who ‘keep’ the words of the prophecy.

So if we will just read Revelation and prayerfully consider everything, then God will bless and show us the things to come.

I have been wondering lately as to the idea in Revelation 13 about ‘the lamblike beast’ causing the world to worship the image of the other beast and also the mark of the beast.

Have you ever wondered how in the world something could be enforced worldwide? How could a worldwide death decree occur (Rev 13:15) in the world we live in today? How could that ever be enforced?

I went to the internet to do some homework and I found something very fascinating. Have you ever heard of the “Rome Statute of the International Court”? It is a court that was created 10 years ago in Rome that will oversee world crimes. Now this is different from the United Nations International Court of Justice known as the ‘World Court’.

The United States has voted against Rome’s Court but it is gaining in favor. It was signed into place in New York City, USA. Yet the US does not support it?

Now this was interesting too. Did you know that both of these great Courts are both seated ‘temporarily’(said various sources) in The Hague, Netherlands. They are both in the same town?

In Revelation 17 it talks about kings giving their authority over for ‘one hour’. So many things to study in God’s word. What if we actually start studying? What truth’s is God waiting to unfold to us?
