Overseas or Here? Big or Small?

What are you doing to spread the gospel? What did you do last week that expanded the message of a Savior that came, died, was resurrected and is coming again? In looking at all of the things around the world that are going on and of all the people that have yet to hear about Christ, what is one to do?

Should we be focusing on areas like India where states are closing in what seems like daily to foreign missionaries? Should we be focusing in our home towns? I spoke with a pastor a few weeks ago who had come to the U.S. to get some training and he made an interesting comment to me. He said, “We are so grateful that you Americans send missionaries around the world…but the truth is…you Americans need missionaries as much or more than we do.”!!!

Wow, he spoke right to my heart. What a great need we have both here and abroad. What would God have you do this week or even today to spread the message of His soon return and of the love that He has for each and every person in your life? We live in troubleous times and it is no time to think that only your money sent oversees or to your church is enough. God is looking for people who will represent Him in every moment of their lives. So stop hoping for the next big mission trip or the next big ‘crusade’ in your town. Though you should be involved in those, the time is today to tell someone the truths that you know they need to hear. I think of those dreadful words that were written many years ago: When destruction comes and is all around us and those of us who knew these things were coming say ” we knew it was coming, but we had no idea it was so soon”… and then those around us will say ” You knew about this and you did not tell me.”
