Sin is the Transgression of the Law…or is it?
July 9, 2008
According to 1 John 3:4 it says this: Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law. And we all know in Romans 6:23: For the wages of sin is death….
With those verses in mind. How would you respond if someone asked you “Then what is the SIN that Eve and then Adam committed?” Some would argue it is such a miniscule thing, God could have forgiven them easily. God also could have forgiven Satan for ‘a little pride’. They disobeyed God and tried to rationalize it away. Do we do the same thing today?
In the world we live in today, many look at levels of sin and say that many things are of no importance to God. I know one in particular that is shown as being conquered first in the desert by Jesus was APPETITE…
Eve succumbed to it but Christ overcame the temptation . Isn’t it amazing that through appetite, our first parents were whisked away into sin. Appetite is such a powerful thing especially in the day in which we live. It is encouraging to look to the story of Daniel and the Hebrew boys and ask ‘why were they the only ones the bible mentions out of hundreds or even thousands of Hebrew Nobles that chose to have a strict and simple diet?’ What if we took diet that serious in the days that we live in? What would God be able to show us or do through us as He did amazing things through Daniel and the Hebrew boys. Clearly something was different with these 4 men and the only thing the bible shows us as distinctive from the others was their diet…
