Setting the Stage-the events unfolding before us

I have been asleep so long and yet God is His infinite mercy seems to be making the noise louder and louder. I hear the sirens but I have neglected the study I should have done before now. What are we to do? What am I to do?

I hear many people using the phrase “God will show me, or God will show us what to do”. Has he not already shown us more than we have taken time to read. The bible shows us of the things to come.  What else is hidden that we may have neglected?

I believe God has mercifully held up our economy and the world’s economy so that we can go forward with more zeal than we ever have before to tell the world of a soon coming Savior. Jesus says we need to “Watch and Pray”. It is time more than ever to prepare to meet your Savior. We will not be saved in groups or churches. We must get to know Jesus. We must have the faith that He had. This is not time to be storing up and planning for many years of peace and prosperity. This is time to wake up early and study your bible. I challenge you to spend more than 3 minutes a day in prayer. What will it take to wake us up and do what God has called us to do?

Speaking of a terrible crisis, the most widely translated female author, Ellen White, states this- “The work which the church has failed to do in a time of peace and prosperity, she will have to do in a terrible crisis, under the most discouraging, forbidding circumstances.”-Evangelism 31

It is time to awake and prepare to meet our Lord. This should not be done out of fear but out of a desire to get to know the One that gave his life for each of us.
