Has Change really come?
November 9, 2008
In what many are saying is the most watched and followed election in United States history and without a doubt the most looked on from a world perspective, we now have a President that has broken many barriers. For anyone who understands the civil rights movement, Barack Obama has done something that Martin Luther King Jr. only dreamed of. My question is this though…how does this affect us as Seventh-day Adventists? What are we to be doing in preparation for a new era. What are we to be doing in the last days in which we live? Luke 21:26 says “men’s hearts failing them from fear and the expectation of those things which are coming on the earth..”
If you talk to anyone from any faith in the world right now, you will get an answer and a feeling that something ‘crucial’ is about to take place. For the first time ever, the news coverage the day after the election covered more of the world’s reaction than the states that voted. Is this not strange to you?
Where are we at in this earth’s history? Many have said for many years that Jesus was coming and it seems as though with all of the things going on that it adds to fuel to that fire. But is His coming sooner than ever….”even at the door”? YES ABSOLUTELY.
Jesus said in Luke 21:28 “Now when these things begin to happen, look up and lift up your heads, because your redemption draws near.”
Also, in Luke 21:31 “So you also, when you see these things happening, know that the kingdom of God is near.”
Do we believe this as a people still? If you do believe that it is imminent and at the door, what are you going to do about it today? If you had to leave everything tomorrow, do you think you could do it? The time is nearer than when we first believed. We must wake up and warn the people. We are Watchman and we have a unique message to give in a unique time and we must do it quickly.
Ezekiel 33:7 says “So you, son of man: I have made you a watchman for the house of Israel; therefore you shall hear a word from My mouth and warn them for Me.”
Urgency must be driving us every morning to tell someone of the Love of Christ and His mercy in showing us the things to soon come upon the earth. We are no longer living in a time to preach a message of ‘get ready’…we must ‘be ready’.
God has told us that He has held back the winds of strife a little longer (Revelation 7:1-3). We must act and not delay. A storm is coming and Seventh-day Adventist’s have a duty to warn the world and help them to abide in Christ like never before.
We can believe Jesus words are truer than ever before: “Surely I am coming quickly.” Amen-Rev 22:20

i told you and karen a while back that he would win and this would be a double fulfillment –the man of peace that the world is looking for–the hand reaching across the waters and the deadly wound being healed—he is by all accounts a “good “man and very charismatic–but as far as the whole world wondering after him –not yet–time is short and your remarks about waiting for God’s leading are true–but how many will keep making excuses and worring whether this thought is really from God or are they rushing Him–hard tmes are ahead without a diubt God’s remnant should have preparation completed especially away from the cities
