Hi Gregory, My understanding is that Christ went to His Father and offered to take the sentence of death upon Himself, that through Him man might find pardon, that through the merits of His Blood, and obedience to the law of God we could then find favor with God. Christ went to His Father after Adam and Eve sinned and offered Himself , and God accepted but God knows everything, and Christ does the Will of His Father, God ordained that Christ, His Son should be equal so that wherever was the presence of His Son, it was His (God’s) own presence. His Son would carry out His (God’s) and His (God’s) purposes but would do nothing of Himself alone. The Fathers’ will, will be fulfilled in Him. God is never too early or too late, God knows all, and we trust that His will be done.. God loves us, but gives us all free will.. Some of what I wrote here is from a beautiful book by Ellen G. White it is called The Story of Redemption. I think you might enjoy reading it.. Sincerely Debra
