Was Ellen G. White a Modern-day Prophet? If not, God does not Exist [VIDEO]

There are many in the world today who are questioning the existence of God. I mean after all the world is falling apart all around us with earthquakes, famine, rumors of war etc. I personally have only one way to believe in God. I believe in Him because of what the Bible has told me about Him. I cannot trust the Bible unless I can prove that it is valid. The only way that I personally can show that the Bible is true is through Prophecy.
The Bible clearly shows in the book of Daniel as well as Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel and other books of the fall of Jerusalem and the rise of the kingdom of Babylon. As we can then read in Daniel 2, we can see that God shows a heathen king the future of the world.
The Prophecies in Daniel without a doubt layout all of the events that would unfold until the end of time. We then can see that the apostle John picks up where Daniel left off and adds greater clarity to the book of Daniel. History validates that the bible can be trusted. Prophecy is God’s way of showing that He is the only one that can foretell the future.
Having said all of that, I believe that God’s Word is trustworthy. I believe that sometime after 1798 or the Time of the End as Daniel describes that God would raise up a group He calls the Remnant in Revelation 12:17. Why does this have to be after 1798? It is because before 1798 there was no group who had the characteristics of the Remnant which are 1. Keep all of the 10 commandments and 2. Have represented among them The Testimony of Jesus Christ or as Revelation 19:10 further describes it as ‘The Spirit of Prophecy”. To be even more clear, the Remnant would have the gift of prophecy demonstrated among them.

There were 3 groups who arose around the time of 1844 which marks the final phase of the plan of salvation, the long awaited answer of the Great Controversy, the cleansing of the Most Holy Place of the Heavenly Sanctuary. Those groups were the Bahai Faith, The church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, and the Seventh-day Adventist Church.
The Bible shows that a remnant or a last piece of the original church that Christ, Himself, had begun in 27AD would be represented on the earth. The only one of the groups above that profess to keep the original 10 commandments as well as had a person among them that passes the tests of a biblical prophet is the Seventh-day Adventist Church.
No other group on the earth can meet the 2 characteristics of The Remnant as described in Revelation 12:17.
Why does this all matter?
Here’s why: I know of men and women that are currently members of the Seventh-day Adventist church that do not believe that Ellen White was a prophet. Then there are others that think it doesn’t matter. They disregard anything she wrote. Let me tell you something very important and I pray that my words are taken and understood in a spirit of love and you knowing as the reader that I have a burden for every soul that reads this article.
If God foretold that in the end of time, He would raise up a special group to do a special work and that He would cleanse the Sanctuary once and for all and put an end to sin, then this prophecy of the Remnant is very important because they play the main role in the last scene of this earth’s history.
If you desire to be among the group that God will soon return for, there will be only two sides in the last scene of the Bible. There will be those who choose to serve God and join His Remnant and there will be those who choose not to obey and love God and will stand against the Remnant. Only two sides we will have to choose from.
It matters because if either one of the 2 characteristics does not apply to the Church that currently makes up the Remnant, the Seventh-day Adventist Church then guess what…She is not the remnant and we should go look for the Remnant or start a new movement.
Do you realize that the Seventh-day Adventist church is the only group on the earth that rose up at the exact time of the prophecy of Daniel 8:14 at the end of the 2300 days that God said would take place and then a Remnant would arise.
If this church does not profess to keep or strive to obey God in all 10 of the commandments or if the church or your local church for that matter does not believe that Ellen G. White fulfilled the gift of the spirit of prophecy that would be demonstrated as one of the only 2 characteristics of the Remnant, then we are not the Remnant and we should look for another.
If Ellen G. White was not a prophet of God, just like Isaiah, Jeremiah, Moses, Enoch, David, Huldah, Deborah ( I had to drop a few women in there ) and the rest of the one’s who make up the many leaders of the Bible, then if she was not like them, then she is not a prophet and the Seventh-day Adventist Church is not the Remnant. The greatest prophet according to Jesus Himself was John the Baptist. A man that prepared the way for the Advent of Christ. John the Baptist never was the author of book of the Bible yet Jesus says that he was the greatest prophet.
Conclusion:
I believe the Seventh-day Adventist Church absolutely fulfills the characteristics of The Remnant of Revelation 12:17 which was to arise after 1798. I believe that Ellen White was a prophet of God. I believe that if she was not a true prophet then the Seventh-day Adventist church is not The Remnant. If the Church is not The Remnant and I know that the Bahai Faith and Mormonism do not fulfill the characteristics of The Remnant which was to arise after 1798 and seemingly around 1844, then there is no Remnant.
If there is no Remnant, then God has abandoned the earth in the end of time. And come to think of it, if God does not have a Remnant, then I can’t trust His Word. If I can’t trust His Word, then I can’t trust when the Bible in John says ‘In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God, and the Word was God-John 1:1
If I can’t trust that God is the Word then I can’t trust that He even exists. If His Word is not true then He is not true and He in actuality does not exist. I truly believe with all of my heart that the ministers and members of the Seventh-day Adventist Church that are doubting the gift of prophecy as demonstrated through Ellen White, don’t really see how dangerous of ground they are treading. If she is no prophet, then there is no God!
Praise God His Word is trustworthy and that all that He foretold is coming to pass. Through this crisis in the last moment of earth’s history, I pray that we will pray for our brothers and sisters that are choosing to denounce God by denouncing His prophet.
The Bible shows us that the reason that the Jews asked for Barabbas was because they had denounced the prophets and only one thing happens when you denounce God’s Messengers, you soon denounce Christ.

we do wish that you can bring the message of our SDA-church as the remnent to the SDA-church in The Netherlands, due to the fact that most of our believers and our leaders do not believe in the work of Ellen White and do not see us as the remnant-church. We are so happy that God gives us Ted Wilson as our new leader, but we are afraid that the SDA-leaders in The Netherlands do not listen to him.

Good job Jared!
powerfull…amen brother!!!
Brother Jared, thank you for this straight testimony. As a third generation Seventh-Day Adventist, I was introduced to Ellen White’s writings as far back as I can remember around 9 years old. I remember taking the plastic wrap off of all the volumes of the Testimonies and beginning to read and understand the writings of this end-time prophetess.I remember reading Messages to Young People by 11 or 12 years of age. Today, my children at 9 and 11 years old, understand the very important work that Ellen G. White was called to do for us during these last days of earth’s history. An excellent resource is the Pathway of the Pioneers CD series. It has helped our entire family understand our church history and how it lines up with scripture: Daniel 8:14 and Revelation 12:17. If SDA parents don’t believe, then we do a dis-service to the children we are raising who are to help finish the work. If teachers don’t believe, then they will not incorporate the Spirit of Prophecy in the daily Bible curriculum. The scripture that guides my daily living and belief system: “To the law and to the testimony, if they speak not according to this word, then there is no light in them.” Isaiah 8:20 Carla ~ Stone Mountain, GA
Good Job – Concise and to the point. Keep defending the TRUTH – God be with you.
THANK GOD THIS IS ON THE PAGE, MANY FALSE PROPHETS ARE ARISING FAST, AND ISAIAH CHAPTER 24 VERSES 1 TO 4 IS FULFILLING THE STORM IS FAST APPROACHING, UNION OF CHURCH AND STATE IS ALMOST COMPLETE REVELATION 17:17 ARE WE PREPARED AS A CHURCH, SADLY WE ARE NOT BUT THEN, WE KNOW A GREAT MULTITUDE WILL BE CALLED BY GOD TO FILL THE GAPS. REVELATION 7 4 TO 9 THANK THE LORD FOR HIS HELP.
Brother Jared, Thank you so much for this informative video on the SDA Church. Thank you also for explaining so much to newly SDA members. Also, I like the reference to the CD’s for further information on the church.
God Bless You!
Simple Question: Prophecy; no where in the New Testament do we see it hold the same weight as Old Testament Prophecy. You claim that Ellen White had the same weight to her words as Isaiah and the like. If this is true then she would have spoken THE EXACT WORDS OF GOD. This is a very powerful claim, to say that everything she wrote down is INFALLIBLE AND WITHOUT ERROR. Furthermore, this would mean that what she prophesied about would be EQUAL to scripture. This statement, no ounce of my being believes. I love the Lord, I trust his word, it is God breathed and useful (2 Tim 3:16), but I do not believe that there is much truth to this article. We are all saved by grace, our actions mean nothing, nothing we can do will save us from death besides Gods amazing, all-powerful grace.
if god exists then why can he not show him self and if he is real then he must be a mean man because off all the suffering on the earth
DEAR BRENT,,, MOSES IN THE WILDERNESS , AN EXAMPLE OF END TIME EVENTS BUT NOT AT A WORLD WIDE EXPERIENCE, DANIEL 9 VERSE 24 TO 27 THE WRITTEN WORD JESUS WAS COMING YET THE JEWS MISUNDERSTOOD,,, THIS AN EXAMPLE OF JESUS 2ND COMING,,, BUT GOD DID NOT GIVE THE DATE….. AS DICK AND MARION, WROTE THE LEADERS ARE REJECTING ELLEN G. WHITE,,, SO AS THE LEADERS OF THE JEWS REJECTED JESUS CAN YOU SEE THE CONNECTION BETWEEN THE OLD AND THE NEW TESTAMENT ,,, SO MANY MORE GOD SHOWS AN EXAMPLE IN THE OLD AND THEN POINTS TO THE END TIMES IN THE NEW TESTAMENT…. Ellen G. (Harmon) White became a Millerite in 1840 at the age of 13 after leaving the Methodist faith. In December 1844 she received the first of more than 2,000 visions concerning the last days; visions that have yet to be disputed.
“And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out My spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions: And also upon the servants and upon the handmaids in those days will I pour out my spirit” (Joel 2:28-29).
Though she never claimed nor accepted the title “Prophet”, Ellen G. White wrote more than 164,000 pages which later were compiled into books, pamphlets, letters and news articles, all affirming God is Love and pointing to Jesus Christ as Creator and Savior of the whole human race. She demonstrated beyond doubt that the Bible is the inerrant Word of God and that all Scripture centers on the life and sacrifice of our Redeemer. Though she favored the King James Version, she read and quoted from most of the Bibles that were available to her generation. Her works are historic, present truth and prophetic. She admitted her historic works were both researched and inspired while her present truth and prophetic works were wholly inspired by visions she had been given through the Holy Spirit. What adds to the wonder of her writings is that at age nine she was permanently removed from school due to a serious injury that almost took her life. Clearly with only a third-grade education it would have been humanly impossible to have acquired all the knowledge she had concerning the Prophesies unless it had been given her by the Holy Spirit.
Ellen White’s books were edited by a team she and her husband James had specially chosen; however, the Whites oversaw all publication to completion. In spite of her numerous compilations all pointing back to the Holy Scriptures, ending her final sermon she stood and held a King James Bible and said, “I commend to you this book”, cementing once and for all that her mission was to bring God’s people back to His Word.
Ellen G. White died in 1915 at the age of 87; to this day she remains the fourth most translated author in history, the world’s most translated woman author ever, and the most translated American author with publications in more than 140 languages.
@ Brent: I don’t believe the Bible teaches that there are degrees of inspiration. A prophet is a prophet (that is inspired person), and a messenger is a messenger. The purpose of these functions is to communicate truth. I think everyone will agree that you test new light with the old, but once it is identified as light there is no biblical authority to treat it as less important.
I thought this might be useful to any seekers, but if I misunderstood your point please clarify (Seeking the truth as well).
@brent. If our works dont matter, then dont get angry with your wife for fooling around with the cable guy. She has been forgiven before she did it … right? If you CHOOSE to ask Jesus into your heart, you should strive to be a reflection of Christ IN YOUR ACTIONS. He will change your BODY into immortality in the twinkling of an eye, but NOT your CHARACTER. No. Works cant save you. No. The law is not forgiving and cannot save. But we must show ourselves worthy of him HERE by turning away from our old habits, (with His strength) and prepare ourselves for the heavenly kingdom. There will be no adulterers, murderers, thieves, liers, etc in heaven. WE must not fall into the trap satan has set for us. PLEASE answer me this question brent. If you are right, and we are wrong, will we perish because of our mistake? Obviously the answer is no. BUT! If we are right and you are wrong… Brent, there is no malice in this letter. God bless you.
@ autumn. I have asked myself these questions too. Imagine if God was visible in the sky whenever we walked outside. Everyone that ever lived could look up and see Him looking down on us from above. And eachof us knowing that if we stepped out of line, we were in trouble. Would we follow God because we loved him? Or because we feared him? It must be a choice of the heart. SECONDLY. This is a condition of free will. We as generally GOOD people have a choice to make every day of our lives. Do i want to be good? Or bad? usually there are multiple choices each day. Now in order for this condition to be fair, EVIL people MUST be given the SAME CHOICE. And unfortunately, evil people often perpetrate their evil upon innocent victims. Not just other evil humans. And if God saved every innocent (and He could) from pain, death, torure, etc. The rest of creation, that is watching this horrific rebellion authored by satan, would say “Sins not so bad. Nobody is getting hurt after all.” Autumn, this is NOT the plan that our LOVING and LONGSUFFERING heavenly Father had in mind for us!!! THIS is the work of the adversary. God Bless You Autumn.
Wow – you said,
“I personally have only one way to believe in God. I believe in Him because of what the Bible has told me about Him. I cannot trust the Bible unless I can prove that it is valid. The only way that I personally can show that the Bible is true is through Prophecy.”
Your initial thought, and the majority of your article is built on an UN-Biblical proposition. The Bible NEVER says, the only way of testing whether it is true, is whether or not it holds up to one individuals scrutiny of its prophesy. Or, the Bible never encourages Christians to put its claims to the test, in order to have faith! Jesus himself admonishes those who seek after signs! (see Heb. 11; Rom 10:17; Mt. 16:4; 1 Cor. 1:22)
You said,
“I truly believe with all of my heart that the ministers and members of the Seventh-day Adventist Church that are doubting the gift of prophecy as demonstrated through Ellen White, don’t really see how dangerous of ground they are treading. If she is no prophet, then there is no God!”
Actually – regardless of what you or I (or for that matter anyone or no one) believes, God will always remain God. Your reckless words are only damaging to your own arguments. Trust me, I’ve known arrogance, but to suggest that God’s existence rests upon your belief of a so-called modern prophet…wow.
12 if we endure, we will also reign with him; if we deny him, he also will deny us; 13 if we are faithless, he remains faithful—
for he cannot deny himself.
2 Tim 2:11-13
So, perhaps there is some good news I can share with you?
“Now faith is the assurance (or the substance) of things hoped for, the conviction (or the evidence) of things not seen.”
The Word of God does not require that a person understand the 2300 day prophesy, (or any modern day prophet) in order to come to saving faith! Hallelujah! Indeed, let’s take this thought just a step further…
People come to soul-saving faith, and there is nothing in scripture that says that they must believe in SDA voice of prophesy! Indeed, the good news is that we come to faith by a supernatural moving of the Holy Spirit (See the book of Romans), the hearing and believing of God’s Word (even before 1844) …
“For man believes with his heart and so is justified, and he confesses with his lips and so is saved.”
This is good news – that people can be saved – By THE BLOOD SACRIFICE of Jesus Christ – WITH NOTHING ADDED TO IT!
“4 But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, 5 even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ— by grace you have been saved…For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, 9 not a result of works, so that no one may boast…”
So, long story short – the Bible – God’s Word, says nothing about believing in Ellen White’s writings to be saved, or to have faith…in Fact – White, doesn’t say anything about believing in her writings, in order to be saved!
Which makes your post, dangerous. Secondly, you deny central claims of the Bible. Third, you seek to add to the Word of God (see the end of Revelation.) Lastly, you promote belief and work in something above and beyond Jesus Christ crucified for sinners…and God says that anyone who seeks to add to the cross of Christ, will be given his due (Romans 4:4)
ellen g. white was not a modern day prophet nor jared. the only church that GOD created and promised to be with when He came back is the religion written in I timothy 3:,15. acta 20:28, 1 corinthians 1:1. read carefully the bible coz in this nearly ending world false prophet will come and fool us. the truth will set u free and make u saved, right.only GOD is the only who should trust no just prophets who teling lies just to earn money.
I only believe what the Bibles says.
The Bible says that not everyone who gives prophecies or casts out devils will be saved. We can’t elevate prophets out of the Bible canon so much.
I do have a big problem with EGW saying that we must give up meat, eggs, and dairy in the very last days in order to be saved. She also thought we all have to give up dancing, all jewelry (even a few cheap things), and not play board games. Is it not all legalism?
Ellen preached the 3 major heresy’s that plagued the early church, she preached a form of Gnosticism, the body is evil and must be cleansed, this is evident by her claims foods hinder the interaction between man and God.
She held the Arian heresy that Christ could fail, she preach a return to works as a test and means of salvation, Ellen combined the 3 worst errors into one church.
No true prophet of God ever preached the Arian heresy, no true ever preaches the return to law, no true prophet plagiarizes without credit.
no true prophet wrote opposing opinions on the same topic, this is the method SDA’s defend her, just pull up a contrary quote to prove your understanding of what she said is wrong.
I would like to extend an invitation to all who are interested in honest debate to join us at Christian Apologetics, a give and take format where posters can answer each other directly in open dialog.

WOW, This is a cult! Im a bible believing christian and i adore David Asserchick.Your worried about the SDA being the remnant? Gods church is here already! Jesus did not like systems like david said. How do you come up with the year 1887 or whatever? Could you be misrepresenting something? I am part of Christs church and i dont need no organizational name. When i picked up the bible i started studying cults to and one thing i notice about all of them is that they all claim to be the “TRUE CHURCH”. It seems your faith is in Ellen White just like catholics do Mary. If it wasnt for ellen whites hypocracy and lies i would probably check the SDA.
EGW — NO: “The man Christ Jesus was not the Lord God Almighty.” (Letter 32, 1999, quoted in the Seventh-day Adventist Bible Commentary, Vol. 5, p.1129).
BIBLE — YES: “For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.” (Isa 9:6).
BIBLE — YES: “Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.” (Rev 1:7-8).
BIBLE — YES: “Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:” (Phil 2:9).
NOTE: The deity of Christ is a fundamental doctrine. Any other belief is HERESY.
she was a fraud and your being decieved. Open your bible brother! I know you want to believe it so much but its not the truth!
abortions are performed in SDA hospitals? You refrain from eating meat? Jesus said something about that. Recieve with thanks? The more i learn the more truth i find! I agree with the saturday thing
this is true.., i am so happy because i was already born as an adventist.., i have just one concern sir.., have you noticed the “world’s last chance movement”?.., i was confused because some of their videos do explain well what the book of revelation is trying to emphasize.., but as i go through their other videos, they go VERY LITERAL already.., they switch the minds of other people to join their movement just because “there are so many bad things that would happen at the end”, if they’ll not accept Jesus.., which the right reason would be for “God’s love and grace alone”,,. He is the Saviour and not a Punisher.., from an article also that I have read, they attacked the Seventh-Day Adventist church, which confirms me that they are not Adventists.., however, my concern is this: do they also use the writings of Ellen G. White for their ministries?, because from what I have observe they can not preach the way they do without the things or the informations from Ellen White’s writings.
Will someone kindly explain to me what did the Seventh Day Adventist Church do to warrant this kind of designation and be awarded this kind of “remnant status”, as opposed to other members of the Body of Christ, who have been everybit as faithful and dedicated to being a witness in this world? (And I need MORE than them just “showing up” after 1798). Was it Sabbathkeeping? Well what about OUR represetatives, the Seventh Day Baptists? Was it not one of their members who informed the original Adventist pioneers of the sanctity of the Fourth Commandment? And as far as Ellen White is concerned, how has the rest of the Body of Christ managed to have ministered so effectively and efficently in this world without her or her “gift”? Is she the “infallible interpreter” of the Bible for you as an Adventist? If she is, then we call that a “Pope”, just like the Catholics have! Adventists are welcome to whatever kind of label they wish to put on themselves, but you can’t have it both ways. Either you are IN the Body of Christ, (THE Church), and therefore, MEMBERS of that Body, (I Corinthians 12:12-27, Ephesians 1:22-23, 4:15-16, Colossians 1:18, 24-28), or you are the “Remnant”, and NOT! Adventists are NOT one step above, or any step closer to the Kingdom because of their self-anointed distinctions. (Interesting how no one else can interpret Revelation 12:17 to say SDA’s…not even other Sabbathkeepers, which is remarkable). To teach otherwise, is to espouse “sectarian theology.”
i do not believe that ellen G white was a true prophet of God, but i believe that she was the true prophet of the bible. am a full time seventh day adventist called by the spirit of God and am here to defend the books of the Lord (the Bible) whose importance and significance has been over riden by the writings of one single individual whose origin we do not know her origin and destiny. the bible is a stand alone word of God na does not need any supplement. Ellen G White quotes the Bible, she also quotes the the writings of other people, this simply means she is speaking the voice of the bible and the writings she is quoting from. the importance and significance of the bible can not be equated to any other book. the system of putting the bible aside and start quoting the writings of Egw to me is insane,if God did not know that man cen not understand him by reading the bible then why did he put it to existence. am not out of my mind. i very much want to find out why people should replace the bible with humanly writings that are focused on money raising. if you were to ask me who my inspiration is and why i worship God i will tell you it is Jesus Christ and not EGW because Jesus died and rose again. EGW died and she is still dead, i dont know whether she will be among those who will go to heaven or not. but if she wont i will not be supprised because she was human like me. the bible can not be equivallent to any other book in importance and significance.
