What is the Stone cut out without Hands?

Posted on September 5th, by Present Truth in Archives. 7 comments

Most people say the stone of Daniel 2 is the second coming but is it?

1. Daniel 2 makes reference to a stone cut out without hands meaning it is not man-made but God made. The Stone hits the image (kingdoms of the world) at the close of time or end of time.

2. Testimonies to Ministers, a book written over 100 years ago on page 422 says that God’s people are “Living Stones” or Lively Stones. Also look up 1 Peter 2: 2-5 and Psalms 118: 22,23. Then go to Zach 12:3 for a stone in the singular.

3. Mountain- what is the Mountain? Zach 8:3 says that Jerusalem or Zion is the Mountain or God’s true people. Who does the Bible say are God’s modern day people/israel? Daniel 9:16, 20 talks about Jerusalem as the Mountain but also details the mystic stones.

Who or What is the mystic stone?

Medical missionary work is the right hand of the gospel. It is necessary to the advancement of the cause of God. As through it men and women are led to see the importance of right habits of living, the saving power of the truth will be made known. Every city is to be entered by workers trained to do medical missionary work. As the right hand of the third angel’s message, God’s methods of treating disease will open doors for the entrance of present truth. Health literature must be circulated in many lands. Our physicians in Europe and other countries should awake to the necessity of having health works prepared by men who are on the ground and who can meet the people where they are with the most essential instruction. {7T 59.1}

The Lord will give to our sanitariums whose work is already established an opportunity to co-operate with Him in assisting newly established plants. Every new institution is to be regarded as a sister helper in the great work of proclaiming the third angel’s message. God has given our sanitariums an opportunity to set in operation a work that will be as a stone instinct with life, growing as it is rolled by an invisible hand. Let this mystic stone be set in motion. {7T 59.2}

Jesus said in John 5:39 that the scriptures testify of Him. I tend to read this with a bias toward the Messiah due to the rock symbolism. Also, there is a time element here with respect to the rock. It comes first and then the other kingdoms are crushed. To me this indicates the second coming. God bless!

Jesus said in John 5:39 that the scriptures testify of Him. I tend to read the passage of the rock hitting the earth as representing Jesus. There also seems to be a time where the kingdoms of Earth are no more. The only time that makes sense to me is after the second coming. Hope that makes sense. God bless.

  3. The stone cut out “without hands” is the instrument or vessel through which JESUS closes the Great Controversy and destroys the image of Babylon in the Earth, co-laboring with Jesus to destroy it by overcoming it…Behold:
(notice how the language is similar to the results of the stone from Daniel) Isa. 41:14″Fear not, thou worm Jacob, [and] ye men of Israel; I will help thee, saith the LORD, and thy redeemer, the Holy One of Israel.
41:15 Behold, I will make thee a new sharp threshing instrument having teeth: thou shalt thresh the mountains, and beat [them] small, and shalt make the hills as chaff.
41:16 Thou shalt fan them, and the wind shall carry them away, and the whirlwind shall scatter them:”

Isa. 13:11 “And I will punish the world for [their] evil, and the wicked for their iniquity; and I will cause the arrogancy of the proud to cease, and will lay low the haughtiness of the terrible.
13:12 I will make a man more precious than fine gold; even a man than the golden wedge of Ophir.”
(this prophecy is against Babylon, all through chapter 13 God clearly lays out His plan against Babylon: it is “a great people; a tumultuous noise of the kingdoms of nations gathered together…” and He calls them His “sanctified ones” and “the weapons of His indignation” Isa. 13:3-5; think about that in connection to the vessels of His indignation in the third angel’s message, as God pours “new wine into new bottles” – the Latter Rain of His doctrine of Truth!)

This is not to be viewed in the fanatical take of the extremists who think to take up carnal weapons, but the warfare is won through the demonstration of the character of Jesus, made manifest in human flesh – the mystery of God shall be finished:

Behold, Mount Sion: (and notice how the stones are cut out without hands)
    “The Jewish Temple was built of hewn stones, and at great expense of time and money and labor these stones were cut out of the mountain and fitted for their places in the building before they were collected together, so that when the building was completed there was not the sound of an ax or hammer heard in its upbuilding. The stones which are in God’s sacred temple are not collected from the mountains of Judea but gathered from the nations, kindreds and tongues and people. They are not lifeless material that must be prepared with hammer and chisel, but living stones which emit light. The great cleaver of truth has taken them from the quarry of the world and placed them under the hand of the great Master Builder, the Lord of the temple, and He is polishing them in His workshop, which is this world, that all the rough edges and crookedness may be removed and they hammered and chiseled and squared by the truth of God, polished and refined, ready to fill their place in God’s spiritual temple, that they may grow up a holy temple for God.” {UL 373.3}

Thus will Babylon be destroyed; and it is for this that “the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now” for: “the manifestation of the sons of God.”

Concerning Babylon, it shall “become like the chaff of the summer threshingfloors; and the wind shall carry them away, that no place shall be found for them.” (Dan. 2:35)
“For thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; The daughter of Babylon [is] like a threshingfloor, [it is] time to thresh her: yet a little while, and the time of her harvest shall come.” (Jer. 51:33)

All ye His servants, “Arise and thresh, O daughter of Zion: for I will make thine horn iron, and I will make thy hoofs brass: and thou shalt beat in pieces many people: and I will consecrate their gain unto the LORD, and their substance unto the Lord of the whole earth.” (Mic. 4:13)

  4. Anthony says:

Amen Brother Jared! You should check out Isaiah 11, ever ask yourself when that takes place, specifically verses 5-10. The answer may surprise you!

  5. Amen,
Concerning the ensign which shall stand for the people and to IT (or to Him) shall the gentiles seek… prayerfully consider:

Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing,

  6. David R. says:

    Dear Bro. Jared,
Please forgive me if I appear to come on strong – but you are entertaining core Shepherd’s Rod theology. I know this for certain as in the last year SR have come to my area and tried this teaching with my family. The two main text they use to “prove” the stone is the 144,000 (which of course they believe is them – but they will not present it this way at first) and not Jesus is Zech. 12:3 and 1 Peter 2:5 (which you have stated in your article). To begin with just look at the next verse (in 1 Pet. 2) – verse 6 says there is a chief corner stone that lays in Zion – which clearly is referring to Jesus. To properly understand why Peter calls us lively stones (plural) we have to understand what the temple is today. The temple is the church – it’s a spiritual temple. Each member build up the house of God – spiritually speaking. But Jesus is the FOUNDATION stone.
Here is the verse in Daniel 2:45
“Forasmuch as thou sawest that the stone was cut out of the mountain without hands…”
    Let’s break it down systematically…
**Heb. 9:11 – this phrase is applied to Christ and in connection with Christ.
**Daniel 8:25 – Antichrist is destroyed “without hand” – Is this the 144,000 that destroys Antichrist or Jesus at His 2nd Coming? Again this phrase is in connection to Jesus. Also compare this verse with 2 Thess. 2:8 and the destruction Antichrist – it’s the same event. The phrase “without hand” (which appears in Daniel 2) is used to describe Christ 2nd Coming in Daniel 8.
**Mark 14:15 – Again this phrase is referring to and applied to Jesus.

Daniel 2:45 says “the stone was cut out of the mountain.”
This stone is Jesus who leaves the heavenly mount Zion to return to earth.
**1Peter 2:6 – We have a chief corner stone that lays in ZION. This stone here is a person because it says “he that believeth on HIM” – the HIM indicates it’s a person. Also it says “I” lay in Zion – meaning it’s a person.
PLEASE NOTE: In this verse we have a “stone” and a “mountain” (which is Zion).
In Daniel 2:45 we have a “stone” and a “mountain”. Hope you can see the connections.

What and where is this Zion?
**Psalms 48:2 – Zion is called a mountain and it’s on the sides of the north.
**Isaiah 13:14 – Lucifer sits on the MOUNT of the congregation IN the sides of the north (this is in heaven)
**Isaiah 51:16 – Zion is also God’s people.
So Zion is a mountain – Zion is a city – Zion is a congregation – Zion is God’s people. And what is the “chief corner stone”? It’s Jesus.
WHICH MOUNT ZION? No doubt the heavenly…
**Heb 12:22 – “But ye are come unto mount Sion, and unto the city of the living God, the HEAVENLY Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels””
This is clearly in heaven – Jesus is in the heavenly Zion right now – and He is going to be “cut out of mount Zion” – so to speak – meaning He is going to leave the heavenly mount Zion to come and destroy Antichrist and all these nations who are seeking to destroy His people (at the end of time).

**1 Peter 2:6-8 – clearly this stone is Jesus.
Now compare 1 Peter 2:6-8 with the following Messianic prophecies (which Peter just quoted from): Isaiah 28:16, Psalms 118:22, Isaiah 8:14.
These are all talking about Jesus!!!
NOTE: Jared, you have Psalms 118:22 listed in point #2 of your article – Are you saying this refers to the 144,000? This verse is clearly referring to Jesus.
**JESUS HIMSELF REFERS TO THE STONE OF DANIEL 2 (and applies it to himself)
Matthew 21:40-44 (verse 44 is the key verse)
In these verses – Jesus is comparing the Jews and the Gentiles. And the original ones who rejected the stone – which were the Jews – rejected Jesus as the Messiah. But the kingdom was taken and given to those who have accepted the Messiah.

    Read Isaiah 2:2-5, Isaiah 11:6-9, Micah 4:1-2
NOTE: Shepherd’s Rod will teach that a mountain represent God’s kingdom. This is obviously true but not the exclusive teaching of the Bible. Jeremiah 51:25 calls the kingdom of Babylon a mountain.

Read Revelation 17:12-14 – verse 12 speaks about 10 kings which are the end time fulfillment of the 10 toes of Daniel 2. The Lamb (which is Jesus) in verse 14 destroys those kingdoms at His coming. The Lamb and the stone are parallels.

Daniel 2:35 – “Then was the iron, the clay, the brass, the silver, and the gold, broken to pieces together, and became like the chaff of the summer threshingfloors; and the wind carried them away, that no place was found for them and the stone that smote the image became a great mountain, and filled the whole earth.”
When the stone hits the image it says everything becomes like the “chaff of the summer threshingfloors”.
In antiquity they would thresh the grain (wheat) and then use these big fans to blow away the chaff because the wheat would remain because it was heavier.
Now notice how this is applied to Jesus at His second Coming.
Matthew 3:12 (NKJV) (This verse is speaking of Jesus)
“His winnowing fan is in His hand, and He will thoroughly clean out His threshing floor, and gather His wheat into the barn; but He will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire.”
ALL the evidence – I repeat ALL the evidence points to Jesus Christ.
To say that this stone is a group of people when it is Jesus is taking the place of God! This is the spirit of the devil and Antichrist.

    Daniel 2, Daniel 7, Daniel 8-12, Revelation 13 through Revelation 18.
Where do you find this teaching in the other parallel prophecies? You don’t!
Remember Revelation is a compliment to Daniel.

We must remember Daniel 2 is only an introductory prophecy – ALL the others build on Daniel 2. Daniel 2 doesn’t give us all the details – it just sets the stage.

There is much more evidence to prove this false theory because the foundation of this teaching is rooted in error. It has to do with the interpretation of the feet of iron and clay. It’s too much to post here.
Jared – you have my email – I have a 50+ page document on Daniel 2 that systematically explains the whole chapter in great detail. I will gladly send this to you.

Once again – this teaching of the stone being the 144,000 comes from Victor Houteff – who is the founder of the Shepherd’s Rod movement. He is considered a prophet to them. He’s not a prophet who receives visions but a prophet who “interprets” the Bible. The SR believe he supersedes Ellen White. I’m not attacking individuals – but attacking theology – and unfortunately sometimes names do have to be mentioned.

Look at the amount of evidence presented here from the Bible that EVERYTHING surrounding the stone in Daniel 2 is Christ centered and not people centered.
All the texts for the stone that say it’s Christ, all the “without hands” texts that are Jesus centered, mount Zion, the summer threshingfloors – IT’S ALL ABOUT JESUS CHRIST.
Remember – Prophecy where Jesus is not the center is nothing more that false prophecy.

    God Bless,
    David R.

  7. sbusiso says:

my dear bretherens in the Lord how can we come to the conclusion which says that the stone represents the 144000,and not the second coming of our Lor Jesus Christ.

the vision and the onterpretation of Daniel 2 is summarised in the book of Ezekiel 21:25-27.whe God gave the last King of Israel his sentence.he says remove that diadem from thee, thy kingdom will be overturned, overturned, and overturned until He whose rigth it is shall come.

the kingdom of Israel fell unto the babylonians, and it was overturned the first time(Medo-Persia)overturned the second time(Greece)overturned the third time(rome)after that it is not overturned until the second coming.the point is clearly set out in PK451 and PP APPENDIX NOTE6.

The mountain does not always represent the Church especially in the context of represents a kingdom in the context of Daniel Rev17:9-10
DA34,GC332.say that not until the second advent of Christ can His people receive the kingdom it is incorruptible and man is corruptible.

when will the kingdom be set up will be at the second now off to wits to attend a crusade by Randt Skeete.i will continue tomorrow share the light with you.
