ZAGREB, Croatia (AP) _ The Croatian parliament has passed a law forcing shops to close on Sundays in a concession to the Roman Catholic church. The church has campaigned for years for Sundays to be devoted to family or Mass in Croatia, which is almost 90 percent Roman Catholic. But Croatians have begun spending weekends in shopping malls that have flourished across the country in the past few years and remain open seven days a week.
 
The law adopted Tuesday and goes into effect Jan. 1. It allows Sunday shopping over the summer and Christmas holidays.
 
The law also allows stores in gas, bus and train stations to open on Sundays year-round, along with those in hospitals. Bakeries, newsstands and flower shops are also exempt from the ban.
 
Unless we understand the importance of the moments that are swiftly passing into eternity and make ready to stand in the great day of God, we shall be unfaithful stewards. The watchman is to know the time of the night. Everything is now clothed with solemnity that all who believe the truth for this time should realise. They should act in reverence to the day of God. The judgements of God are about to fall upon the world and we need to be preparing for that great day.

The bible warns that anyman who speaks not according to the law and the testimony…has no light in them. This man is speaking things that are not in correlation with the bible. Read your bible and prayerfully consider all that God shows us in His word and we will not be decieved.

He has been gaining in popularity for ‘his’ ability to heal people who are coming to him from around the world. Presentruth featured a story a few weeks back by Mark Cahill-Presentruth about this man.

If you have then you may be able to relate with this question. Am I reading the wrong bible? The reason I ask is because, if I have to do research and homework on every word in my bible then why doesn’t my bible need a makeover? Was it not translated correctly the first time? 

We say that the bible is the inspired Word of God, yet when we disect words so far down to the ‘original’ it seems as though they mean something entirely different. Now I am not saying that one needs to throw their bible out. God sustains His word and it is the same as 2000 years ago. Go look at the Dead Sea Scrolls for evidence of that. 

God in His infinite wisdom even has english words that have been translated 3 and 4 times and yet somehow they hit home in the day in which we live. God’s word is Trustworthy. If you are desiring to understand what the original says, then God will show you more truth. If you are content with taking the Bible at what it says in your language…then God will show you more truth. 

God is faithful and as we read His Word, He will teach us new truth each and every day.

A Michigan pastor is urging people to go “Gossip Free”(www.gossipfree.org) for at least eight days starting on 8-8-08, but said it’s never too early to stop listening to or sharing idle chatter at home, work or especially church. Pastor Kevin Hester of Sanctuary Baptist Church in Coloma, Mich., said “even though gossip is commonly accepted by people and churches, God takes it seriously.
